Key highlights

  • 300,000 t/y lithium-ion battery anode material project in active production ramp.
  • Graphitisation and pre-carbonisation workshops expanding at full speed; pressing and roasting at full capacity.
  • Expected to create 2,000 jobs at full capacity.
  • Company targeting world-class high-end new energy industrial base status.

Zhongyi Group’s 300,000-tonne-per-year anode material project in Liuhe, Jilin Province is off to an aggressive start in 2026, with production and construction advancing simultaneously.

The finished product workshop is running mixing, magnetic separation, and packaging operations. Milling and granulation processes are laying groundwork for downstream production, while graphitisation and pre-carbonisation workshops are expanding capacity at full speed. Pressing and roasting lines are at full capacity.

Zhongyi is a national high-tech enterprise and “Specialised and Innovative” company focused on anode materials, large-size ultra-high-power graphite electrodes, and graphite products. Once the project reaches full capacity, it is expected to create 2,000 local jobs.

Why it matters

Another large-scale anode project entering the ramp phase adds to the wave of new capacity coming online in China. The 300,000 t/y scale puts Zhongyi in the conversation among major domestic producers.

What to watch next

Timeline to full capacity utilisation. Product mix and target customer base. And whether the Liuhe project can compete on cost against established integrated players like Shanshan and Putailai.
