Guangdong Kaijin New Energy Technology has established a new wholly owned subsidiary – Ningde Kaijin New Energy Technology – with registered capital of ~$22 million, according to Qichacha filings dated 12 February 2026. Legal representative is Guo Hui.
The subsidiary underpins Kaijin’s 200,000 t/y lithium battery anode materials project, which carries a total investment of ~$729 million and is expected to generate annual output value of ~$875 million. The project launched in September 2025 and is planned to begin production in June this year.
Separately, Kaijin has signed an agreement with the Guian New Area Administrative Committee for an additional 200,000 t/y integrated anode project. Combined with the Ningde project, total capacity is expected to push toward 600,000+ tonnes.
Why it matters
Kaijin is making an aggressive capacity play at a time when most of the industry is still digesting the last wave of expansion. If both projects land on schedule, the jump to 600,000+ t/y would put Kaijin among the larger domestic anode producers.
What to watch next
Whether the June 2026 production start in Ningde holds. Progress on the Guian New Area project. And how Kaijin plans to fill 600,000+ tonnes of capacity in a market where oversupply concerns linger.
