Guangdong Kaijin New Energy Technology has confirmed it will establish a major anode material production base in Gutian County, Ningde, Fujian Province, according to a release from the Gutian County government.
The decision followed a visit by a Gutian County investment delegation to Shenzhen, Dongguan, and Guangzhou from 10–12 September, during which the team visited enterprises, inspected projects, and met with industry contacts. After discussions, Kaijin – described as a leading global anode producer and CATL supplier – formally agreed to establish operations in Gutian.
The project involves a total investment of CNY 5 billion (~$726M) and is designed for annual production of 200,000 tonnes of high-performance lithium battery anode material, targeting annual output value of CNY 6 billion (~$871M) and annual tax revenue of CNY 360 million (~$52M). Phase 1 is slated to begin construction following a signing ceremony at the World Energy Storage Conference, with completion and production start targeted for June 2026.
