Inside the production workshops of Guizhou Changyu New Materials Co., Ltd. in the Cengong Economic Development Zone, production data from 15 graphitisation furnaces refreshes in real time. The 5,000-tonne graphitisation smart production line is running at full load, with this batch of high-purity isostatic graphite products about to be shipped to domestic and international markets.

In Q1 this year we planned to produce 1,500 tonnes and have already completed that target. Orders are now booked through to June. To ensure on-time delivery, our furnace discharge operations run 24-hour shifts with all staff on duty.

As a national-level high-tech enterprise, Changyu’s speciality carbon and graphite materials are widely used in photovoltaics, new energy, national defence, and other strategically emerging sectors. The company is currently accelerating a new baking and carbonisation workshop project, which will install 30 energy-efficient carbonisation furnaces and a dedicated impregnation system to further reduce costs and improve quality and efficiency.

Once the new project is fully built and commissioned, we will not only achieve local in-house production of the baking, carbonisation, and impregnation processes, but will also significantly improve production efficiency while simultaneously reducing unit energy consumption. Annual output value is expected to rise from the current RMB 150 million (~US$22 million) to approximately RMB 500 million (~US$73 million).
